Our dental practice is pleased to offer Payment Plans for most dental treatments. We have a couple of payment plan companies that we deal with so there will be one to suit your individual needs. Each tailored payment plan is there for your convenience so we can focus on you, your smile and your individual dental healthcare needs.
There are minimal or no credit or finance contracts for these payment plans. Please feel at ease to talk to our front desk staff about which payment plan best suits your needs.
If you have a health fund card, please bring this with you to your appointment at Andrew Baderski Dental. Then, with a simple swipe of your HICAPS cards, we can process your health fund claim, and you will only be out of pocket for any gap that may not be covered.
Health funds have assessors who determine the level of rebate for particular dentistry items. There is a balance between the rebate and the level of premium you pay, the type of cover and other factors such as waiting periods, annual limits and any promotional offers. Most funds have fixed rebates for treatments irrespective of the actual fees charged. The rebates are not designed to provide full cover for dentistry fees or even a consistent percentage. Also, most schemes do not include all treatment items, and some common treatments have no rebate at all.
Please note: Your contract with the health fund is between you and the fund. It remains separate from the relationship you have with Andrew Baderski Dental. We are not a preferred provider to any health fund as it continues to be Dr. Baderski’s decision to provide our patients with the best choice of treatments with the best choices in materials that he believes appropriate, not what the health fund wants him to do – health funds are about the dollars, not about your individual patient care.
There is no such thing as a recognised fee or schedule fee in dentistry, and the Australian Dental Association (ADA) states categorically that any organisation that implies that their rebates are set to a percentage of a schedule fee is misleading the public, regardless of whether it is an internal schedule. We provide this information to you as many health funds will tell you that any dentist other than those working directly, or as a preferred provider for them, are charging you a fee higher than the schedule fee. This is completely incorrect, and we appreciate your assistance in providing the names of people and companies that do this to you so that we can have the ADA take action against them for unfair trading.
The Australian Dental Association has also put together a consumer website where you can input private health fund insurance information and it will give you an unbiased response as to who can do what for you. The website for this is Time 2 Switch; https://www.ada.org.au/time2switch/home we hope this is of use.
